Participation of Minister Dr. Ing Habtamu Itefa at the BETD2023

H.E. Dr Habtamu Itefa, the Minister of Water and Energy of Ethiopia, and Mr. Abera Endeshaw, Senior Advisor to the Minister attended the Berline Energy Transition Dialogue which took place from March 27^th to 31^st, 2023, in Berline, Germany.

Ethiopia and Germany are committed to foster a secure and sustainable supply and utilization of energy, which is also guided by international climate protection efforts. Both countries recognize the importance of private sector participation in promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency, as well as the fundamental role of communication strategies to raise public awareness on energy transition. To this effect, Ethiopia’s participation to this important event paved the way to strengthen the existing cooperation between Ethiopia and Germany and discussed on other areas of engagement, such as the development of green hydrogen industry, especially the production of ammonia, expansion and integration of power grids and reconstruction of energy infrastructure.
