First Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on Directive for Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities

A stakeholder consultation workshop took place on June 23, 2023, in Addis Ababa to review the draft Electric Vehicle Charging System (EVCS) Directive. The draft directive has been developed by Petroleum and Energy Authority (PEA) of Ethiopia with the aim of facilitating smooth entry into E -Mobility, promot  energy efficiency, safety, increased access to charging infrastructure for consumers and attract investment in th emerging E- Mobility industry..

The workshop brought together major stakeholders both from the government and private sectors including policy makers, standard institutes, EVs importers, assemblers, power producers and distributors, and other technical service providers and higher learning nstitutions. This workshop has been conducted in cooperation and support from Ethiopian German Energy Cooperation.
