First Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on Energy Efficiency in Buildings in Ethiopia

The Petroleum and Energy Authority (PEA) of Ethiopia, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Germany Energy Cooperation, conducted a stakeholders’ consultation workshop on building energy efficiency and energy efficiency awareness on February 2, 2023, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

iproplan Planning Company mbH,  an independent consulting and planning company with many years of tradition and experience in the field of planning and project management of construction projects from all areas of business, the public sector and private investors, and Rockstone Ethiopia, a subsidiary of the German based Rockstone Real Estate,  and winner of the ‘Best sustainable residential development in Ethiopia 2021- 2022’ award, shared their experiences and basic principles and concepts adopted in promoting energy efficiency in buildings and the whole development process of building constructions. 

Participants of the workshop were from different private companies, government institutions and civic society organizations.  On the workshop an international experience on building energy efficiency as well as the Ethiopian Energy Efficiency Strategy were presented.

PEA and the Energy Cooperation project are working closely to create awareness on energy efficiency to introduce practical solutions for a smooth energy transition in Ethiopia.
