EWiEn Thematic workshop: Mitigation Measures for Power Interruption in Ethiopia

With the support of the Ethiopian Germany Energy cooperation, Ethiopian Women in Energy (EWiEn) has conducted a workshop on the topic “Power Interruption and Mitigation”.  The workshop took place on Oct 21, 2023, where participants got the opportunity to understand the cause of power outages as well as shared insights on the mitigation process.
 
On the workshop, representatives from EEU, including Dr. Gebeyehu Likasa - Addis Ababa Region Electric Utility CEO,  Ato Wondwossen W/Mariam, EEP Director, central I Transmission Substation Operation and Ato Gosaye Mengiste from MoWE power sector reform policy and regulatory advisor, shared their current initiatives aimed at solving power outage problem, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among relevant stakeholders. They also answered questions from the audience who represented various energy sectors in Ethiopia.
